Southern Loggin’ Times magazine Associate Editor Jay Donnell has the opportunity to visit Holmes Logging in Wallace, North Carolina. After 40 years of logging it was about time for a celebration for Robey Holmes. At least that’s what his wife Kim was thinking when she started planning a 40th anniversary party to commemorate Robey Holmes and Holmes Logging. Approximately 100 people showed up for the catered meal and festivities held June 17. The event included several speakers, one of which was Kim, who offered some high praise for her husband. “Robey Holmes is a natural-born leader who constantly strives to bring out the best in his employees,” she said. “He is not one to shy away from a challenge and is always looking at ways to make the company better. He along with his brothers credit their success to God and to their parents as they continue to carry on their family heritage.”
