Southern Loggin’ Times magazine Contributing Editor Jordan Anderson profiles Birmingham, Alabama-based Kenworth dealer TruckWorx. TruckWorx, now in its 38th year, has a significant presence in the logging industry in Alabama and surrounding states. The family-owned company operates seven full-service truck dealerships in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Thomasville, and Dothan, Ala., and another in Jackson, Miss. In addition, TruckWorx runs a body shop in Birmingham and recently opened its first TRP Parts store in nearby Alabaster. Current CEO Bob Mitchell and his father, B.B., founded the business as Kenworth of Birmingham in 1978. Prior to starting the Kenworth franchise in Alabama, B.B. was the branch manager at a Mack dealership in North Carolina. When the opportunity arose for B.B. and Bob to open the Kenworth franchise in Birmingham, they were all in.
