Young heads a three-man logging operation that works in the 18 counties where fourth-generation lumberman Jack E. Norwood owns property. While most of the land lies between Raleigh and the Atlantic Ocean, the holdings go as far west as Chatham. Norwood owns an estimated 25,000 acres in all, most of it in pine.
