Southern Loggin’ Times magazine Contributing Editor Jordan Anderson travels to Ft. Deposit, Alabama to visit Bry Logging, LLC. Time flies, they say, and Bry (Bryan) Findley, Jr., might agree. The young logger is already marking the fifth anniversary of his company’s inception this month. He was only 23 when he went on his own, starting Bry Logging LLC in February 2013. No offense to younger readers, but some folks in their early twenties seem barely competent to change a tire or balance a check book, let alone start, and then build, a successful business, especially in a field where even the savviest and most experienced can struggle to turn a profit. The fact that this young logger started a successful and growing logging business at such a young age is quite exceptional. Now 28, Findley is the third generation of his family in logging. His grandfather, Bill Findley, began the family tradition in the early 1960s cutting and hauling shortwood.
