Southern Loggin’ Times last visited Eric Chambers for the February 2003 issue to write about the then fairly new Chambers Delimbinator, which they first marketed in 1997.
16 years later we visit Eric’s Chambers Logging in Ackerman, Miss. which is now operated by his longtime friend, Ronny Prewitt.
The crew hauls 50 loads a week but they rarely work Saturdays and never on Sunday. Prewitt knows the value of family time for him and his crew. “We think everyone has something to do when they get home, so we try not to stay out here late in the day.”
“I owe a lot to Eric and Mary Grace Chambers,” Prewitt reflects. “I very much appreciate the opportunity he gave me in 1997, and the trust he put in me. Eric could get out of this if he wanted to, but he feels an obligation to his employees.”
