Southern Loggin’ Times magazine Managing Editor David Abbott travels to Inez, North Carolina to visit Inez Forest Industries, Inc. and IFI Trucking, LLC. When Southern Loggin’ Times caught up with William Glenn Coleman III—he goes by Glenn—in early March, he was working just outside Norlina, NC, off the first exit south of the Virginia state line on Interstate 85. Coleman’s son, William Glenn Coleman IV—he goes by Will—shares more than just his father’s name. Glenn, 58, and Will, 28, run Inez Forest Industries, Inc. and IFI Trucking, LLC, the separate hauling entity they conceived in response to difficulties with contractors. Inez Forest includes two harvesting crews with a chipper shared by each. The name sounds almost regal, and like the chosen vocation of the men themselves, it’s been passed down like a family heirloom. “He is fourth and I am fifth generation,” Will says.
