There’s an old joke, some variation of which you might have heard. There were these two guys in Florida who had an idea to go into business selling watermelons. They bought a truckload of watermelons for $1 per melon, then drove the truck to Texas and sold them for $1 each. At the end of the day, despite selling all the melons and bringing in a lot of cash, they were surprised to find that they had only broken even—and if they had thought to figure in the cost of transporting their product, they actually lost money, obviously.
