Southern Loggin’ Times Associate Editor Jessica Johnson visits Grantham Brothers Logging, Inc. in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Chad Grantham and Don Grantham, Jr., President and Vice President of the company respectively, are fourth generation loggers. Logging is so entrenched in their blood that when Chad sat down with Southern Loggin’ Times, his love of not only the woods but for the entire business was palpable. When the Grantham brothers started the business in 1994 it was a small but solid operation, with one loader, one skidder and one tree cutter. Now, almost 20 years later, Grantham has 10 employees and 14 pieces of equipment, not counting pickups and service trailers. In 2012, the company was named the Mississippi Loggers Association Logger of the Year.
