Southern Loggin’ Times magazine Associate Editor, Jessica Johnson, travels to Huntington, Tennessee to cover a story on a ‘youngster’ logger Chad Prater. Prater, a 28- year old father of one, owns his own logging crew, runs his own trucks and recently purchased a small sawmill. With a small crew of six and his mother running the front office, Prater seems to be profiting from having a tight small knit work environment. Johnson covers the details of Prater’s equipment lineup, trucking, employee relations and the front office. Overall, this hardworking logger is grateful for the help he’s got, and is looking forward to what is in store for his crew.
